Internationally wanted for attempted murder and robbery, 41-year-old from Kosovo

A 41-year-old man from Kosovo was arrested at the Morina border crossing while attempting to enter Albanian territory, despite being internationally wanted by Austrian authorities.

According to the official announcement of the State Police, citizen HL, a resident of Deçan, Kosovo, was detained by the Border Police services of the Morina BCP, in cooperation with the Kukes Local Police Directorate and Interpol Tirana, after verifications carried out at the second line at the entrance to the country.

During the search, it turned out that an international arrest warrant had been issued against the 41-year-old by Interpol Vienna, at the request of the Austrian authorities, as he is suspected of involvement in several serious criminal offenses, namely "Attempted Murder", "Serious Injury" and "Theft".

Currently, Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Austrian authorities, is pursuing procedures for his extradition to Austria.

This arrest is part of intensified operations by the Border Police to crack down on illegal activities and capture internationally wanted persons.
