Forza Italia MP calls on Albanians: Vote for democracy with Europe in mind

Forza Italia MP Erica Mazzetti, at the end of several electoral meetings held in support of the Democratic Party of Albania, stated that Berisha liberated Albania from the remnants of the communist regime and led it towards liberalization.

In a Facebook status, Mazetti called on Albanians to vote for democracy, equality and freedom, thinking about taking the country to the EU.

"I was in Albania for the campaign of President Sali Berisha, a politician of great stature, who, in all effects during his years in power, liberated the Balkan country from the remnants of the regime, launching reforms to improve and liberalize the economy. It is not surprising that today, the country is more solid, more modern, more attractive for investment, although in recent years there has been a negative turn, which must be corrected quickly. The honorable Erica Mazzetti, MP for Forza Italia and national manager of the FI public affairs department, declares it on the sidelines of various electoral meetings of the Democratic Party of Albania (center-right). "We have built excellent relations between Albania and Italy - he adds - it is because of our people but also of enlightened people like, of course, Berisha and President Silvio Berlusconi. Albania is not only geographically close to Italy but also similar from different points of view, we succeeded together and we want to continue to do so, with respect, cooperation, mutual commitment, knowledge, aware that we are both people with liberal and democratic principles based on work". "Today - continues the FI exponent -, a strong change is needed, to give dignity to a people that I have seen ready for redemption, with a program that puts the person at the center, based on physical, social, economic and environmental well-being but also on equal justice, with ensuring punishment in time and manner. The goal should be to improve conditions for the Albanian people but also for investors". "We welcomed you with open arms, President Silvio Berlusconi who, the Albanian people still love, has done so much for you - still remember Mazzetti - and you have done so much for Italy, above all by working in sectors that many Italians no longer wanted to do".
