American tourist arrested for killing wife in Shkodra

A shocking event occurred on Thursday morning in the city of Shkodra, where an American tourist killed his wife with a knife and then attempted suicide.

Local police have announced that American citizen Brandon Saporito, 57, has been arrested and charged with the murder of his wife, Sandra Holley (Saporito), 53. The crime occurred in a rented apartment in the "Vasil Shanto" neighborhood, at around 10:15 a.m. on May 2.

According to official information, the perpetrator has exercised violence against his wife, first hitting her with hard objects and then with a cutting tool (knife), causing her immediate death at the scene. After the crime, Saporito attempted suicide by cutting his wrists, but was rescued and is under medical care and police security.

"It is suspected that the incident occurred for weak motives, while the perpetrator was intoxicated at the time of the incident."
