Germany declares AfD party an extremist group

According to the latest assessment by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, there is no doubt that the AfD party is right-wing extremist as a whole, and not just in certain states but throughout Germany.

The AfD has been under surveillance by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution since 2019, when its investigators began collecting and evaluating public statements by AfD officials.

It is therefore considered certain that the AfD will also take legal action against the current reassessment by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution./ DW
