With flowers and banners, the final farewell is given to 22-year-old Albanian

The funeral of Ilaria Sula, the Albanian student who was murdered by her Filipino ex-boyfriend, Mark Antony Samson, is being held today.

Hundreds of citizens, all family members, friends, and associations of violence against women, have gathered at the 22-year-old's house in Terni.

From the footage published by Italian media, touching moments appear when Ilaria's mother, Gëzime Sula, appears calling her daughter's name through tears.

"Oh my Ilaria, oh my mother died for you, oh my Ilaria, where are you, oh my mother's soul, where are you that you have no light in your eyes, where are you locked up, oh my mother's soul. I brought you home, mom, because you said I would come home, I brought you home, mom, oh my heart, oh Ilaria, open your eyes," Ilaria's mother can be heard crying bitterly.
