Immigrants voted for the first time from abroad, 2,784 envelopes with votes

2,784 envelopes containing ballots from Albanian emigrants living and working abroad have arrived. This is a historic moment for the democratic process, as today's parliamentary elections mark the first time that Albanians abroad have the opportunity to vote from their places of residence.

The voting process in the Albanian territory began at 07:00 in the morning and will last until 19:00 in the evening. Problems have been reported in some voting centers, mainly of a technical nature, but no major incidents have been reported that could disrupt the process.

According to official data, a total of 3,713,761 Albanian citizens are eligible to vote, including those living outside the country. They will elect the 140 deputies who will make up the new legislature of the Albanian Parliament.
