First diaspora votes counted, DP-ASHM leads by a narrow margin over SP

The process of counting votes from the diaspora has begun at the Olympic Park "Feti Borova", where 1660 envelopes with votes have been opened and processed so far. Preliminary results show a narrow advantage for the Democratic Party - Alliance for Modern Albania (DP-ASHM) coalition, which has secured 43.95% of the votes, respectively 726 votes.

In second place is the Socialist Party with 705 votes, or 42.68%, closely following its main rival in a close and still open race.

Currently, the counting is continuing to be carried out separately by districts, with the exception of votes coming from Greece, which have not yet been included in this phase of the process.

Due to the fatigue of the commissioners and observers, the counting of envelopes has been interrupted for a technical break and is expected to resume at 10:30.

This is one of the most important processes of involving the diaspora in political decision-making, while the participation and involvement of Albanians abroad has increased significantly in these elections.
