Today, June 1st, is World Children's Day.

Today, June 1st, is World Children's Day.

June 1 marks International Children's Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness of violence, bullying and other abuses affecting children.

This holiday originated in 1925, when representatives from various countries gathered in Geneva, Switzerland, at the "World Conference on the Welfare of Children".

After this meeting, several countries decided to designate a day to highlight issues affecting children, and it was later decided that June 1st would be International Children's Day.

By creating this day, the United Nations recognized children's right to love, understanding, adequate nutrition, health care, free education, protection from all forms of exploitation, and to grow up in an environment of peace and universal brotherhood, without distinction of race, religion, or origin.
