African heat wave begins in Albania, meteorology warns of dry summer

Meteorologist Tanja Porja warned on Dita Jone a hot month with high temperatures that will reach 35 degrees. According to her, today the highest temperature of 32 degrees will be recorded in Elbasan.

"Not just today, this whole week and next week. June has started with the first heat wave from Africa. Temperatures from 7-32 today. Sun all day in 95% of the territory. Clear nights and mornings. The thermometer today has increased by 3 degrees. We have 32 degrees Celsius in Elbasan ," said Porja.

The Meteorology Department said that high temperatures of 35-38 degrees will prevail throughout the month of June. The most affected regions, according to it, will be Elbasan, Berat, Fier and Gjirokastra.

"There will be days with 34-35 degrees. Until the 15th, the thermometer will remain in high degrees, the mornings will warm up. June will be a hot month. It is expected that June will reach 38 degrees, but on 3 separate days, but not consecutive days. 38 degrees in Fier, Elbasan, Berat, while Gjirokastra is questionable. It cools down a bit in mid-June and then the high temperatures return."

The forecast also warns of a dry summer with temperatures that will exceed 40 degrees.

"This summer will be very dry. July and August will reach and exceed 40 degrees. There will be no precipitation until September," said Porja.
