Elvis Pupa breaks silence after cannabis allegations in Australia: Perfectionism

The famous Albanian actor and comedian, Elvis Pupa, has reacted for the first time after the news that made a stir a few days ago, where he faced charges of cannabis cultivation by Australian authorities. Although he chose not to comment directly on the legal issue, through a video published on Instagram, the former resident of "Big Brother VIP Albania" has shared a deep reflection on growing up under high expectations and the pressure to be "perfect."

In his speech, Pupa recounts in emotional tones his childhood experience in the '80s, when, as he says, there was no room for mistakes and where any deviation from "normal" was accompanied by shame and social and family punishment.

"They always told us: 'Don't talk, eat what we put in front of you.' Back then, you had no chance of making a mistake, because if you made a mistake, you were the shame of the tribe and the neighborhood," the actor recounts, adding that the upbringing of his generation was based on extreme perfectionism, which today he considers an "emotional poison."

He emphasizes that this perfectionism is not success or ambition, but an inner voice that doesn't allow you to feel enough, despite your efforts.

"Perfectionism is not a virtue. It's an emotional poison, but with a trendy name. It's not ambition, brother. It's not success, but a voice inside your head that always tells you: 'You're not doing enough yet,' even though you've given everything, even your soul," he says.

At the end of his message, Pupa makes it clear that this public outing is not intended to justify or seek public approval: "I am not saying this for approval, nor do I care about your opinion, because my personal life is personal. You don't owe me anything and I don't owe you anything. Not at all."

With this video, Elvis Pupa seems to have chosen to talk more about the emotional burden of being a public figure and less about the legal issue he is currently facing in Australia.
