Fire at Elbasan Incinerator Intentional? Denunciation: Employees Caught Setting

A large-scale fire was recorded this Tuesday afternoon at the waste landfill near the Elbasan Incinerator. 

The flames spread rapidly and black smoke covered much of the city. Earlier it was reported that the fire could have been accidental due to the heat wave, but a video recently published in the media claims that the fire was intentional. 

In the video published by the JOQ Albania portal, it is claimed that it is the employees of the Elbasan Incinerator who set fire to the garbage, while there is still no official reaction from the relevant institutions regarding the case.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time that waste has been burned in the landfill in Elbasan, as there have also been denunciations from the opposition regarding the incinerator affair.

Even though hundreds of millions of euros have been spent and several state officials have been convicted for this affair, the Elbasan Incinerator is still out of operation and no one is held accountable.
