Paul Deda, Saimir Tahiri's former bodyguard, who was wanted for trafficking 1 ton of cannabis to Bari, has been arrested in France.

The GJKKO has imposed the security measure "prison arrest" on Deda.

"As a result of the provision of information by specialized structures of the State Police, and its exchange in real time, through Interpol Tirana, with counterparts in Paris, within the framework of this phase of the operation "The Wanted", the French police located and arrested, with the aim of extradition to Albania, the Albanian citizen, declared internationally wanted, PD, 50 years old.

The Criminal Court has assigned the 50-year-old the security measure "Arrest in prison" for drug trafficking and money laundering, committed within the framework of a criminal organization.

From the investigations carried out, it is suspected that the DP citizen, in collaboration with Albanian and Italian citizens, attempted to traffic 1016 kilograms of the narcotic Cannabis Sativa cultivated in Albania to Italy by sea. The quantity of narcotics was seized in Bari by the Italian Police, where 2 members of this criminal organization were also arrested.

"Interpol Tirana continues to cooperate with its counterparts in France to finalize the procedure for the extradition to Albania of the 50-year-old ," the announcement states.
