Requests acquittal in the Appeal of the Criminal Court of Kosovo, the hearing

The hearing in the Special Anti-Corruption Appeal for the former mayor of Durrës Vangjush Dako has been postponed again.

The latter did not appear in Court, but was represented by his lawyer Kamerion Salillari.

Unlike previous hearings, Dako has sent another lawyer to defend him, revoking the defense attorney Petrit Ismaili had until now.

This served as one of the reasons for postponing the session, as the defense requested time to familiarize itself with the documents.

SPAK representative Sotir Kllapi said:

"This process was initiated by the defendant's appeal and we must take into account that the Appeals Court trial has certain deadlines set by law. As for the other lawyers who are absent, we see it as unjustified."

The panel of judges decided that the next hearing will be held on July 11, at 1:00 PM.

The Special Court of First Instance found the former mayor of Durrës, Vangjush Dako, guilty of abuse of office in two cases and sentenced him to 2 years and 8 months in prison. The additional sentence of deprivation of the right to exercise public functions for a period of 5 years was also imposed.
