May 11th elections/ DP asks CEC to find 130 thousand ballot papers, Kaso: We

The Democratic Party has officially requested the Central Election Commission to launch an administrative investigation into the lack of over 130,000 ballots in the May 11 elections. The Secretary for Legal Affairs at the DP, Ivi Kaso, invited to the show "Log.", stated that this request is based on the official minutes of the CEC itself.

"We have the CEC's decision to produce 3,534,792 ballot papers. 1,463,204 ballot papers were found in the ballot boxes, 1,935,834 were declared unused, while 5,000 were damaged. From this balance, it results that 130,754 ballot papers are missing, which were neither used nor listed as surplus," - declared Kaso.

According to him, if these ballots do not come out, the CEC should provide an official explanation as to where they are. “We are not accusing, but we are seeking clarification based on the data that the CEC itself has submitted to us. The remaining surplus is smaller than what it should have been,” he added.

Kaso expressed doubts that the missing ballots may have been replaced, emphasizing that some of them are neither used nor unused, which raises questions about the integrity of the process.

"The simplest logic leads to the suspicion that they may have been used illegally," said Kaso, emphasizing that so far such a large number of errors in the administration of ballots has not been seen.
