Call center fraud, two arrested in Tirana

Two people have been arrested after defrauding foreigners through a call center.

OV, 35 years old, and AB, 32 years old, in collaboration with each other, called foreign citizens and, through deception, convinced them to invest in fictitious stock exchanges.

"The specialists of the Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation Section of the Tirana Police Department, in cooperation with the Special Force for Special Operations and Investigation, after thorough investigative work, have successfully organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Last Call".

As a result of this operation, citizens OV, 35 years old, and AB, 32 years old, both residents of Tirana, were arrested in flagrante delicto.

The investigation revealed that these citizens were running an unlicensed entity, with undeclared activity to the competent authorities, on Rruga e Barrikadave, which they had adapted as a call center. They, in collaboration with each other, called foreign citizens and, through deception, convinced them to invest in fictitious stock exchanges.

"The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police announced.
