EPP refutes the farce of May 11, Vokshi: Follow-up mechanisms should be

Democratic Party MP Albana Vokshi denounced at the EPP Parliamentary Assembly the fact that Albania is experiencing every kind of abuse of state power, vote buying, voter intimidation and electoral manipulation.

She underlined the necessity of establishing several follow-up mechanisms for the implementation of the resolutions adopted between them and the EPP resolution on Albania.

"Albania experiences every kind of alleged abuse of state power, vote buying, voter intimidation, and electoral manipulation.

Also, a relevant prosecutor's office should fully and promptly investigate all alleged election-related crimes before the elections, and also ensure equal access to the media for all political actors in Albania.

So our concern, which I think is related to all the resolutions that the EPP adopts, whether ordinary or urgent, is: what happens next?

How can we ensure that all institutions led by EPP members, all member states governed by EPP member parties, implement these resolutions?

Because very often we see a disconnect between the statements the EPP makes or the resolutions it adopts and what happens in the European Commission, for example, or in other institutions or in the member states.

"Can we fix these or can we put in place some follow-up mechanisms for implementing the adopted resolutions?" she said.
