"May 11 elections, a controlled process", Gjekmarkaj: You have become

Agron Gjekmarkaj spoke today from the Parliament podium, where he accused the Socialists of vote theft in the May 11 elections.

For Gjekmarkaj, the May 11 elections were neither free nor fair. According to him, the elections were a controlled process.

Agroni Gjekmarkaj: Today I do not rise to comment on a result on this podium! I rise to denounce a farce. I rise to contribute modestly to healing one of the most serious wounds in contemporary history!

The May 11 elections were neither free, nor fair, nor representative. They were a controlled process, a theater of power, a simulacrum of democracy.

The Socialist Party, the State Party, the State Government and Prime Minister Edi Rama, instead of organizing a real competition, chose to build a closed process, where every element was controlled and commanded politically and state-wise.

How did this happen? By using public administration as an electoral instrument, not as a service to citizens; By direct pressure from criminal groups in neighborhoods, in municipalities, in every center of blockade and non-voting;

With open violations of the Electoral Code, through electoral bonuses, false promises and selective fines;

By manipulating the diaspora vote, denying our compatriots the fundamental right to vote freely and transparently. These actions invalidated the right that we supposedly gave to the diaspora, which we took away from our compatriots;

And with a selective protection of business, where benefits and protection are granted only to oligarchs and those close to power, punishing competition and limiting the economic freedom of Albanians.

Colleagues of the majority, You began this regressive journey by isolating the leader of the opposition, Mr. Sali Berisha.

This act demonstrated a mindset that more closely resembles an old regime of which you are unfortunately the heir, than a democracy that aspires to European standards. In your speech, there is evidence of an orchestrated effort to declare the opposition unnecessary: to belittle it, to put it under pressure, to ridicule it, to suppress it, to denigrate it, to annihilate it.

But, at this very moment, each of you has deprived yourself of the sublime guarantees that pluralism provides to a society that aspires to democratic standards.

You are running into the unknown with dangerous naivety. And you will not have time to regret it.

Today, you are no longer individuals with a political identity. You have turned into numbers, awaiting orders from a single person, who is transforming the Socialist Party into an absolute control mechanism.

You are killing the Republic out of fear, not courage. You are assassinating the future of your children, because by giving up your freedom and pluralism, you are sealing the fate of an Albania that will remain trapped in existential dilemmas.

The Socialist Party, as it functions today, is no longer a political force, but a machine of violence and power that is destroying the democratic foundations of our country.

You applaud because you think you have won, but in reality, you have lost. You have become victims of zeal, of order, and of submission.

Therefore, today, with full responsibility, I am telling you: The elections of May 11 did not serve democracy. They did not serve the citizen. They did not serve Albania. They served only one purpose:

The continuation of the rule of the minority over the majority, the personal rule of Edi Rama over you and over every citizen who accepts the rule. Today, the rule of the majority has turned into a tyranny over the majority of citizens.

Today, the rule of the illegitimate governing majority, in fact the minority that pretends to be the majority with stolen votes, has turned into a tyranny over the majority of citizens. Honorable colleagues of the majority, you who today call this a "victory", remember this sentence well:

You did not defeat the Democratic Party. You defeated Albania for a moment! The Albanians who have worked against Albania, you know what History calls them!

By stopping the rotation, you have not preserved stability, but you have stopped the circulation of ideas. You have stopped the citizen's trust in the vote, you have violated his dignity, you have violated constitutional guarantees and equality before the law.

You have stopped the citizen's trust in the vote, you have violated his dignity, you have stolen his constitutional guarantees and equality before the law!

And just as importantly, by doing so, you have denied yourself the opportunity to be free people. Because when a system only works one way, you are no longer representative either.

You have become hostages to the power you think you have. Instead of competing with ideas, you competed with pressure.

Instead of winning the hearts of the citizens, you won their fear and hatred. But hatred does not build peace. Fear does not build democracy.

Fear builds silence. And silence, colleagues, is the end of representation.

In a democratic society, rotation is a sign of health, not crisis. Because no power is eternal. No manipulation lasts forever.
