Tom Cruise enters Guinness World Records

Tom Cruise has won a new title for a stunt he performed for the latest episode of the "Mission: Impossible" series.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Cruise now holds the title for "the most number of jumps with a parachute on fire by an individual."

“Tom doesn’t just play action heroes – he is an action hero!” said Craig Glenday, Editor-in-Chief of Guinness World Records, in a statement on Thursday. “A large part of his success can be attributed to his absolute focus on authenticity and pushing the boundaries of what a leading actor can do.”

Glenday added that it is “an honor to be able to recognize his absolute courage with this new Guinness World Records title.”

Cruise performed the fiery jumps as a stunt during filming for "Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning," the eighth film in the popular action series in which Cruise has starred since 1996.
