Albania-Serbia match/ Tirana in "total lockdown": 2000 police

Tirana will be under extraordinary security measures on June 7, due to the highly anticipated match between Albania and Serbia taking place at the "Arena Kombëtare" stadium.

The State Police has drafted a detailed plan of measures, deploying around 2,000 police officers on the ground, who will guarantee public order before, during and after the challenge.

As part of this plan, anti-drone devices will be used for the first time, which will be activated on the perimeter of the stadium to neutralize any unauthorized flying vehicles.

Police have warned of detailed checks on fans at the stadium entrances to prevent the introduction of dangerous objects such as fireworks, racist banners, flares or hard objects. They also appeal to citizens not to use drones, as any illegal flying vehicle will be shot down immediately.

In cooperation with UEFA, the Albanian Football Federation and other institutions, the Police have taken measures to guarantee a safe environment for athletes and fans.

Vehicle circulation will be prohibited from 3:00 PM on match day in several main segments near the stadium, including "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, "Papa Gjon Pali II" Street, "Dervish Hima" Street and other surrounding streets.

For fans coming from the districts, special parking spots have been designated at terminals and public parking lots, to avoid chaos in the center of the capital.

The police announce that any attempt to enter the field without authorization, throw hard objects or use pyrotechnics will be treated as a legal red line, with penalties ranging from fines to imprisonment from 3 months to 5 years, according to the Criminal Code.

It is also noted that the distribution of photographed tickets on social networks may lead to their duplication and, consequently, to the inability to enter the stadium. Tickets are personal and are checked via barcode.
