Enea Mihaj transfers to the USA, will play as an opponent of Messi and Uzun

Atlanta United announced their first signing of the summer with defender Enea Mihaj.

The Albanian player will take a spot on the international roster for the 5-Stripes after signing a contract through the 2028 season with an option for 2029. Mihaj will be eligible to play starting July 24, when the secondary transfer window opens.

He will also need to obtain a P-1 visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC) to be able to play.

“We are delighted to welcome Enea to the club and look forward to integrating him into the squad ahead of the second half of our season ,” said Chief Football Officer and Sporting Director Chris Henderson. “He is a physical centre-back and a vocal leader with experience from multiple leagues across Europe. We expect him to play a key role and add competitiveness to our defensive line. ”

This transfer gives Mihaj the opportunity to challenge some of the biggest names in world football, including Lionel Messi, who is currently with Inter Miami. His opponent will also be Myrto Uzuni, who is with FC Austin.
