Government enters oil market, Rama: New price for consumers

At the conclusion of the first day of the "Dialogue on Agriculture and Rural Development", Prime Minister Edi Rama chose to speak about a new way of governance, promising intervention in the oil sector and a review of budget schemes.

Rama said that a new price will have to be set for consumers, while adding that the government will make life easier for oil stakeholders as it will be a guarantor for its import and export.

Rama : We are in a position to look differently at governance and the potential that the country has in every direction where we need to expand our capacities to participate in the development process.
It cannot be a process, taxes, budget subsidies and requests from the budget.
We need to turn every lek that we spend from the budget into profit for the country's economy and not just spend lek and collect taxes.
We need to review the oil scheme, and we are preparing to intervene in the oil sector, in the sense that I said before, the government will be very active in creating conditions and schemes for cooperation with entrepreneurship and cooperation with economic factors to increase people's incomes, and we definitely need to build a new process and we are preparing it, where the government will be part of the forces in the oil sector.
We want to intervene to establish a new price balance for consumers.
We have studied it and I believe that within a year we will be involved in the import and distribution of oil in collaboration with other actors, which will make their lives easier, because they will have the government as a guarantor.
