Edi Rama today trumpeted a success story regarding the development of livestock farming combined with tourism. He brought to attention during today's meeting the model in the Çajup field in Zagori, Gjirokastra, as he announced a special program to promote livestock farming.

"We will come up with a special program to support the creation of farms and stables in nature. We must encourage points for cultivating small animals in nature. The Çajupi Stable is a spectacular example, not just for livestock, but also for tourism. The concept of combining tourism with livestock is a winning concept," said Rama.

But in the meantime, the prime minister is either being lied to by his associates or he is not really impressed by the disregard for the law. In any case, this is serious. The farm built in the Çajup field is without a building permit. Farmer Pëllumb Koko has long occupied the pastures in that area, creating a clash with residents of Zagoria, precisely because of this illegality.

Not only that, but the construction he has done is in a protected area, where concreting is strictly prohibited. There has been a long correspondence in the last 10 years between the Municipality of Libohova and the National Inspectorate of Territorial Protection about the demolition of those constructions.

This does not exclude treating that farm as successful, but the other side of the coin should also be mentioned, which the Prime Minister may not know, but can easily verify. F

In terms of political protection, the farmer has managed so far to continue working despite the fact that the venture has started and is completely illegal. At least Rama will probably be informed about this when he goes to Çajup himself, where, as he promised today, he will present the new livestock support package. ©LAPSI.al
