Audi chase in Tirana, police provide details, who is the driver who was arrested

Tirana Police has issued an official statement regarding the chaos caused this afternoon in the capital, where "Shiponja" forces pursued a vehicle in which two armed young men were traveling.

Authorities report that during the pursuit, the two young men crashed their car into three other vehicles, then threw their firearm and pistol into the road and fled.

The passenger was unable to escape, and was arrested by the Police, while the driver of the vehicle is wanted. Citizen Skerdi Sina , 29 years old, was arrested.

His name is not unknown to the authorities. In January of this year, Sina was wanted along with 4 other people after they held a 21-year-old woman captive in a rented apartment in Astir. They were in possession of firearms and had also consumed narcotics.

"Around 16:30, in the "Vasil Shantos" area, the services of the "Eagle" Special Force stopped an "Audi Q8" vehicle, in which there were two people, as they had reasonable suspicions that the people in the vehicle might be armed. The driver did not obey the Police order, continued driving at high speed, crashed into three vehicles and then, together with the passenger, abandoned the vehicle on "Moskat" street."

During their departure, it is suspected that these citizens threw a pistol firearm to the ground, which was seized and will be sent for further examination.

As a result of the pursuit by the Police services, it was possible to apprehend and escort to the premises of the Tirana DVP the passenger in the vehicle, citizen Skerdi Sina, 29 years old, who, during the physical search, was found to have a comb and ammunition. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle has been identified and work continues to locate and apprehend him.

"The investigative group established for the case is continuing its actions to fully clarify and document this event," the announcement states.
