Xhafa: The fire at the Elbasan landfill was deliberately lit to destroy evidence

Democratic Party MP Qani Xhafa commented on the fire at the Elbasan landfill, saying that the fire was intentionally set there to destroy evidence, because the day before, the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office summoned 21 people, Elbasan municipality employees and incinerator employees.

The MP said that the waste field should be blocked and another waste disposal site should be found. He further accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of making "theater" yesterday in Cërrik, instead of apologizing to the citizens of Elbasan.

"The waste field near the landfill was set on fire, one day after the Elbasan prosecution summoned 21 people, Elbasan municipality employees and incinerator employees, for the destruction of evidence. The fire was set there. It is intentional. I warned earlier that we will have a serious environmental catastrophe in Elbasan. The corporal that the prime minister did yesterday was to stop at the incinerator and apologize to the residents of Elbasan for the catastrophe he has created. That field should be blocked and a suitable place should be found for urban waste," said Xhafa.
