The price we pay after the "elections"

The price we pay after the "elections"

Albania has been placed at the bottom of the list for quality of life in Europe, according to the latest report by the international platform Numbeo for the first half of 2025.

With a total rating of 104.1 points in the quality of life index, Albania ranks 37th among the 37 European countries analyzed.

Grigels Muçollari has also reacted to this, writing in a Facebook post that this is the price we pay after the elections.

Every vote bought or dictated is one less opportunity to improve the quality of life, he said.

" The price we pay after the "elections".

According to the latest index, Albania has the worst quality of life in Europe. At the bottom of the list. Declining purchasing power, degraded public services, polluted environment, daily insecurity. This is the reality behind every electoral process that is sold to us as a "victory".

But it cannot be otherwise. Because election day is no longer an act of democracy, but a great national bargain, where votes are bought with public money, with favors, with fear. It is the day when the state is completely put at the service of the party, where the omnipotent uses every institution to dictate the outcome.

Every vote bought or dictated is one less opportunity to improve the quality of life. Every pressure on the administration, one less service for the citizen. Every covered up corrupt contract, one less opportunity for development. That's why Albania is not moving forward. Because it has been held hostage by those who are exchanging our lives for their power.

This is the price we pay when elections are no longer elections, but mechanisms for controlling and suppressing the popular will.

"Until this changes, Albania will remain at the bottom. Not just in the indexes. But in life, in what each of us touches every day."
