Tabaku demands debate on Elbasan incinerator: Parliament should be held

MP Jorida Tabaku supported the request of her colleague, Zheni Gjergji, for a debate on the scandal with the Elbasan landfill, where waste has been burning for three days.

Tabaku said in Parliament that an investigation into the 430 million euros of corruption that were spent on the incinerator is needed.

She demanded that the Assembly be held accountable for corrupt contracts, while the Minister of Finance be held accountable for continuing to pay for the incinerator.

"I demand a parliamentary debate on what happened in Elbasan. It is necessary that the investigation into the 430 million euro corruption of incinerators continues, given that the matter is not closed. None of the incinerators are working. The Assembly must take responsibility for 3 corrupt contracts that continue and are still being paid. The Minister of Finance must account for why he continues to pay money for the incinerators," declared Tabaku.
