A shocking, powerful testimony from a former convict has exposed a multitude of institutions that attempted to conceal a serious criminal event within Reç Prison.

Pjerind Ndoci was an eyewitness on June 29, 2024, the day when 6 Reç prison guards beat the convict Edmond Piraniqi to death.

The show Fiks Fare continued to investigate the serious incident, a few days after the Shkodra Prosecutor's Office sent the file to court, taking 6 employees as defendants, on charges of committing arbitrary acts and causing suicide. The file states that the prisoner was beaten before attempting to kill himself in his cell. The camera, the prosecution writes, shows the actions of a group of guards who grab him by the hair and kick him. The file also contains details that the prisoner had his feet on the ground when he was found in the isolation room.

After the broadcast of this investigation, a former prisoner, Pjerind Ndoci, called the editorial office of the show Fiks Fare. Pjerind was in solitary confinement on June 29, 2024, in the room opposite where Edmondi was also in solitary confinement. He says that Mondi cursed the doctor and then the doctor cursed the prisoner. Then the police officer on duty notified the ready group, who arrived immediately.

"5 guards entered Mondi's room and shot him for about 15 to 20 minutes. Then they dragged him into the hallway and in front of my cell door his slipper fell. Mondi's condition was very serious, in a very serious condition and with his head hanging down. The guard shot him in the hallway and then put him in another isolation room, shooting him again," says Pjerindi.

He testified with voice and image, for the camera of the show Fiks Fare, that the guards of the Reç Prison camouflaged the suicide. "Mondi did not have the courage to kill himself. Those guards made it look like he killed himself. I have also testified for the People's Advocate and the Helsinki Committee. The prosecution did not question me. A few days after the event, they transferred me to Tirana. I am ready to testify about all of this to the prosecution," says the former prisoner.

After this testimony, the former prisoner speaks on the phone with Edmond Piraniqi's father. Pjerindi tells him the story that he did not kill himself, but that the guards who beat him did it. Lulzimi tells him that he will come to Albania since he is in France and will take his testimony. Pjerindi tells him that he is ready to testify and give his confession legally. Lulzimi thanks him and asks for his phone number. Top Channel
