Jessie J has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer and plans to undergo surgery after her performance at this month's Summertime Ball.
The 37-year-old singer said in an Instagram video that she has spent most of her recent time getting tested.
"I was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer ," she said. "Cancer is terrible in any form, but I'm sticking to my word. It's a very dramatic way to have breast surgery. I'm going to disappear for a while after the Summertime Ball to have my surgery and I'll be back with bigger breasts and more music."
Jessie, whose full name is Jessica Cornish, said she announced her diagnosis publicly to help her process the news and to show solidarity with others who are going through a similar experience.
