"No one can change history", Zhupa requests a hearing with Gonxha

The Chairwoman of the Committee on Education and Public Information, Ina Zhupa, has reacted harshly after the reconstruction of the infamous former Spaç prison.

In a reaction on Facebook, Xhupa writes that these works are erasing the traces of time, endangering the authentic values of the object.

Zhupa has also requested an urgent hearing with Minister Blendi Gonxhe, the director of IKTK, representatives of associations of the formerly persecuted, and organizations and foundations focusing on this issue.

" I have followed with concern the construction activity in the former concentration camp of Spaç prison, with works that erase the traces of time, seriously endangering the authentic values of the facility. These interventions contradict the living testimonies of former political prisoners in this prison and the archival data of the time.
As the chairwoman of the commission responsible for cultural heritage, education, seeing the lack of reaction of the institutions, I have decided to immediately request the suspension of the works and a hearing session in the commission with Minister Blendi Gonxhe, the director of IKTK, representatives of associations of the formerly persecuted, organizations and foundations with a focus on this issue.
No one can retouch, embellish, or alter history!
History is taught and transmitted so that it will not be repeated again, it is not embellished for propaganda", writes Zhupa.
