"No more turning a blind eye", Tabaku from Brussels: The elections

DP MP Jorida Tabaku commented on the resolutions and decisions taken by the European Parliament, which condemned the electoral farce carried out in Albania on May 11 by the socialist majority.

Tabaku stressed that the European Parliament is genuinely concerned about the violation of the elections in Albania, as these are the first parliamentary elections with open negotiations and at this stage there is no longer any tolerance for a country's democratic standards.

"The European Parliament confirmed to us today that Albania is certainly in the focus of discussions, also due to the fact that negotiations have been opened and due to the fact that in the integration process there is no longer turning a blind eye and shifting the blame to others, that Albania must behave as a country with standards and the elections unfortunately showed that Albania is not a country with standards.

"The integration process is not political marketing, it is not marketing that says I will have a date and I will reach a date, but it requires hard work, it requires commitment and political will. The elections showed that this political will does not exist," said Tabaku from Brussels.
