The Albanian opposition received as many mandates as it did thanks to one man:

By Hysni Gurra

For those who say it, those who think it but don't say it, and those who say it but deny it
About the May 11 elections, I speak as a person who saw something on the ground. But not as a person on the ground who seeks a position, a benefit from power if it changes, or as an investment for personal ambitions in the future.
Like many journalists who go out on the ground to see or support someone, I was there too, as a volunteer citizen who believes in the need for rotation.
But on May 11, there were no elections in Albania. No one can prove to me the opposite of this until I saw it myself.
The Albanian opposition received as many mandates as it did only thanks to one man: Sali Berisha.
Thanks to his charisma, spirit and personal work. I am not talking about anyone else below him, neither for charismatics, nor for workers.
After the elections, many of those who until yesterday were connected to the Democratic Party were exposed. You saw for yourself what results Basha, Alibeaj, Dash Shehi and others in this category got. And right after May 11th, everyone in a single chorus started again: "Berisha should go".
But this is nothing new.
Yes, there are other voices like those I mentioned,
as well as media hypocrites who say they feel sorry for the DP, and there are also those from within, winners and non-winners, some of whom say it openly, others think it but do not articulate it, and some others who say it but then deny it. The same logic: the DP must look at itself, Berisha must leave, and so on.
But none of these have even 1% of the political weight that names like Basha, Dash Shehi, Alibeaj and similar ones had before.
If they do not understand, someone should tell them how these names came out in the elections, when they were not under Berisha's umbrella.
If they are ambitious young people, with degrees from abroad, pampered within the DP, let them understand something essential: even a young man, without much schooling, but who grew up in the DP courtyard, who knows the 'cafes', the people, the mentality of the field — is much more capable of creating connections with voters and representing them than many of the subjects of this article.
This call to separate from Berisha is not new. Over the years, big names for the time have left the DP (don't judge them today, go back in time) such as Tritan Shehu, Genc Pollo, Ben Imami — respected figures of the time, pure for the time, people of the field. Later, Dash Shehi, Bamir Topi, Basha, Alibeaj... But despite this, the membership has always spoken clearly. All the time, it has decided for Sali Berisha.
There are some gifts that God gives to a person. And no matter how hard you try, there's nothing you can do about them: hate them, fight them, set traps – you can't change their place.
Even less so when a person with talent is also an extraordinary worker and has a strong character.
