Former prosecutor raises alarm: There is a mafia in Albania that resembles the

Former prosecutor Besnik Muçi commented on the joint mega-operation of SPAK and the Albanian Antimafia, where out of 52 arrest measures, 29 were imposed by the GJKKO for members of criminal groups operating in Albania and 22 security measures were imposed by the Bari Court in Italy.

Invited to News24, Muçi said that the Italian anti-mafia press conference compared Albanian criminal groups to the well-known Italian mafias.

"The Italian anti-mafia spoke about Albanian criminal groups as if they were the well-known Italian mafias. The Albanian mafia is the same as that of Sicily. Albanian organized crime works with 2 well-known Italian mafias, the 'Ndrangheta and the Sacra Corona Unita, which work in certain fields.

I believe that Italian prosecutors have this in mind when they mention the Albanian mafia.

"There has been a sophisticated Albanian mafia for years. What impressed me and is worrying for the Albanian state is the fact that not even the Italian prosecution trusted SPAK and neither of these two institutions trusted the Albanian police," said Muçi.
