Former ambassador Agim Nesho declares that Albania risks returning to dictatorship, referring to the results of the May 11 parliamentary elections.

Nesho said on Syri TV that despite the regime saying that the people spoke, in reality it is quite the opposite.

For the former ambassador, the holding of the European Political Community summit was used by Rama to certify the farcical elections of May 11.

Nesho is optimistic about a reaction from the US regarding the electoral massacre that occurred during the May 11 election process, adding that a statement from the US administration will disrupt many balances in Albania.

" There is a momentum to crush the opposition, that we are in a regime with a complete tendency to slide into dictatorship. The idea of returning to the previous dictatorship is being raised. They are real, they are electoral autocracy. Yesterday, Maduro was also voted in, he received over 80% of the votes, and these people are seeking legitimacy that is not valid, but through pressure and vote buying to show that we are a democracy."

If we see an electoral autocracy as it has been tried so far. We have had an opposition that has been deliberately marginalized, led into protracted processes, an opposition that has gone to the absurd where the opposition leader has been kept under house arrest on a ridiculous charge.
