The Special Prosecution Office, in cooperation with Finnish authorities, has cracked down on a criminal group that was involved in international drug trafficking.

In a joint statement to the media with Albanian authorities, the Commissioner for Crime at the National Bureau of Investigation in Finland said that the main leaders of the criminal group operated from Albania.

"I want to congratulate all the colleagues who participated in this operation this morning. I want to congratulate SPAK for the cooperation over the last two years. Two years ago, a large-scale investigation was undertaken, 55 citizens were arrested, about 300 kg of narcotics trafficked from Spain and the Netherlands were seized. 170 kg of amphetamine, 10 kg of cocaine, about 100 kg of marijuana and several narcotics tablets. From the investigation in Finland, it resulted that the main leaders were citizens operating from Albania ," said the commissioner from Finland.
