He breaks arrest, steals a car and escapes like in a movie, the serial thief

A 36-year-old man known for criminal records in the field of theft has been arrested by Tirana Police after he broke the "house arrest" security measure and committed another theft, then attempted to escape.

Drilon Çuni, a resident of Tirana, previously convicted of the same criminal offense and currently under "house arrest" for theft, has been arrested.

According to the official Police announcement, Çuni left the apartment without authorization and stole a vehicle on "Siri Kodra" street. After the stop signal from the Traffic Police services, he did not obey the order of the blue uniforms and continued moving at speed in the direction of the "Rinas-Tirana" axis.

Police organized a real-time pursuit and, after a few minutes, the 36-year-old abandoned the stolen vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. He was immediately apprehended by patrols, ending the failed escape.

"The procedural materials have been passed to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action," the official State Police statement states.

Drilon Çuni will now face new charges of violating security measures and theft, and is expected to appear before the court for the assignment of a new security measure.
