"130 thousand unused ballots", CEC responds to the DP

The opposition coalition led by the Democratic Party responded to the Central Election Commission, after the PD-ASHM sent a letter today asking where about 130,000 ballots from May 11th have been lost.

According to the CEC, a portion of the ballots also belong to electronic voting, where their use was not necessary.

The CEC's response to the DP:

Dear Mr. Nuri

In response to your request regarding the immediate verification of the ballots used for the elections of May 2, 2025, we inform you that:

The number of 1,935,328 unused ballot papers includes only the reported quantity of these papers according to the minutes of each VC.

To this number should also be added:

27,340 ballots for 74 VCs, where electronic voting was applied, EAZ No. 27 (Vora Municipality) and EAZ No. 41 (Administrative Unit 10, Tirana). As can be understood, these ballots were not used;
99,455 unused ballots that make up the amount of these ballots For 233 VCs, in whose minutes the number of unused ballots was mistakenly marked with "0";
5,369 are unused ballots but whose numbers in the Logical test are assessed to have been reflected with errors in the respective minutes For each VC (there are 1,380 VCs that reported these data with errors).
