Journalist: Italian air operations reveal that every election year, Albania

Journalist Alba Kepi has revealed a report by the Guardia di Finanza regarding aerial surveillance operations in Albanian territory.

Speaking on Syri TV, she said that in the past three months, a tripling of illegal cannabis plantations has been recorded in Albania, compared to a year ago.

She added that this data is also consistent with the political message conveyed today by the Democratic Party, raising a clear warning about the significant increase in the phenomenon of drug cultivation in the country.

KepiThree months ago, I shared a report by the Guardia di Finanza, of an aerial surveillance operation in Albanian territory, which raised the alarm that illegal cannabis plantations in Albania had almost tripled.

For comparison, it has increased by 164, almost 165% compared to the previous year, or as far as the roots of cannabis plants are concerned, 109 thousand cannabis plants were documented, compared to the previous year where around 48, 49 thousand were identified.

So a clear indication of illegal plantations, and undoubtedly, looking at the chronicle, or the message that the Democratic Party conveyed today, shows that if we combine this alliance of Italian authorities, plus the anti-mafia and anti-drug reports, and with what the DP has documented today, we can undoubtedly say with a headline that Albania is turning into a cannabis mega-greenhouse to supply Europe.

In April 2025, the Meloni government approved a draft law on security, one of the points of which predicted the death of the industrial cannabis production sector.
I have made a comparative analysis of the reports of the Italian Guardia di Finanza, which clearly shows that every year these aerial surveillance operations, which are operations that are carried out mainly from May to October, and it is clear from these achievements of these operations that they have produced data, and every electoral year, the number of plantations or cannabis plants that are identified in the Albanian territory, in every electoral year are doubled.
