Two women threaten the Saranda prosecutor in her office

A prosecutor in Saranda was threatened today inside her office by two citizens, who requested a meeting with her at the Prosecutor's Office premises at the Saranda Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction.

According to BalkanWeb, the incident occurred on Monday morning, when the two citizens, still officially unidentified, appeared at the prosecutor's office expressing dissatisfaction with the decision given by the prosecutor regarding a criminal case involving a minor. According to preliminary data, they are relatives of the victim of a criminal offense that occurred a few days ago in Saranda, while the prosecutor had set the security measure "house arrest" for the suspected perpetrator.

Both women, who did not agree with this decision, are suspected of insulting and threatening the prosecutor during the meeting, inside the institution's premises. Immediately after the incident was reported, officers from the Saranda Police Station arrived at the scene and escorted the women to the police station, where they were questioned as persons with knowledge.

Due to the conflict of interest, the case has been transferred to the Gjirokastra Prosecutor's Office for prosecution, which has launched investigations into the criminal offense of "Intimidation of a Judge", provided for by Article 317 of the Criminal Code.
