High school graduates in North Mitrovica celebrate with parade and Serbian

A group of high school graduates from a high school in the northern part of Mitrovica held a parade on the city's main promenade today to celebrate the completion of high school.

According to reports from Serbian media "KoSSev", the parade took place in a mostly calm and noiseless atmosphere, with young people singing stanzas of various songs from time to time. On two separate occasions, it has been reported that high school graduates have briefly chanted the slogan "Kosovo is the heart of Serbia".

While the singing of the songs was held in a reserved manner, the presence of Serbian flags was evident throughout the activity. The presence of police and security personnel in civilian clothes was also evident, monitoring the situation to avoid any possible incidents.

According to the same sources, the school principal had not allowed the official organization of the parade, so no teacher participated in this activity. The high school graduates were accompanied by their parents, who were present all the time.

This event comes at a sensitive time for inter-ethnic relations in northern Kosovo, where symbolic activities of an ethnic nature often receive high public and political attention.
