The candidate of the Vetevendosje Movement for president of the Assembly of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, has called for an end to the parliamentary blockade by the opposition parties, emphasizing the importance of constituting the Assembly and fulfilling institutional responsibilities.

In a statement to the media after the end of the next session, Haxhiu underlined that since the moment of the proposal for a secret ballot, 24 sessions have taken place, without achieving the full constitution of the Assembly due to the non-participation of the opposition in the vote.

"We are not asking them to vote in favor of it, but to participate in the vote – whether against or abstaining. It is a constitutional right and responsibility," declared Haxhiu.
The Vetevendosje MP emphasized that in every constituent session, the deputies of her party have been present and ready to contribute to the formation of institutions, while accusing the opposition of obstructing the process through the continuous boycott.

"There are deputies who come to the Assembly, but they don't know why they come," she said in critical tones.
She also referred to the letter of President Vjosa Osmani, which, according to her, emphasizes the need for all parties to commit to institutional unblocking and not to use the lack of vote to stop the functioning of the Assembly.

"It is extremely important for the opposition to abandon the blocking positions. We must be at the service of the citizens and in accordance with the Constitution," said Haxhiu.
She added that Vetevendosje has respected every constitutional and regulatory obligation of the Assembly and that the decision of the Constitutional Court regarding the issue of the committee on secret ballot, which was sent by AAK, is already awaited.
