Musk appears with a black eye at his farewell press conference in the Oval

US President Donald Trump has praised Elon Musk for his work at Doge as he hosted the tech mogul at the White House on his last day as a special government employee. The president said Musk "isn't really going to leave" and will occasionally return to the White House because Doge is his "baby."

Trump presented Musk with a large gold key, which the president said was a thank you from the country. Musk was also asked about his black eye.

He revealed that his five-year-old son, X, is responsible for the bruise. "I told him to punch me in the face and he did," Musk said.

Musk's designated role as a special government employee allowed him to work a federal job for only 130 days in a calendar year.
