The food safety scandal continues, all egg samples in Elbasan result in

The Food and Veterinary Safety Institute (ISUV) published the official results of microbiological analyses conducted on 5 egg samples officially received by the National Food Authority (AKU), Elbasan region.

All samples tested positive for the presence of Salmonella spp. bacteria, according to the international standard ISO 6579-1:2017.

"This result is alarming and poses a direct threat to public health, especially in cases where the product is consumed without proper thermal processing. The presence of Salmonella spp. in eggs can cause acute gastrointestinal diseases in consumers, with serious consequences for the most sensitive groups of the population (children, the elderly, pregnant women, people with low immunity)", said the President of the Veterinary Order, Ervin Resuli.

Based on this situation, the Veterinary Order recommends immediate action to ban the marketing of this product.

Trace and isolate the batch of contaminated eggs and carry out a full sanitary-veterinary inspection of the farm or entity that produced or distributed the product.

Notify the consumer and ensure the disposal of the unsafe product, according to legal procedures.

Resuli says that the responsibility falls on the NFA for guaranteeing food safety and protecting consumer health, he said.

A few days ago, ten children in a kindergarten in the city of Gramsh were contaminated with salmonella, while the entire population of the country has been exposed to salmonella from the numerous cases identified this year in chicken and pork products./ Monitor
