Alimehmeti requested a recount of votes in Tirana: There are irregularities of 5

Ilir Alimehmeti, the candidate of the DP-ASHM coalition in the May 11 elections, has appealed the result and requested a recount of the votes in the Tirana District. 

Although he received over 18,000 preferential votes as a candidate on the open list, Alimehmeti did not manage to win a parliamentary mandate.

Through a letter sent to the CEC, Alimehmeti says that based on the investigations, an irregularity of about 5% of the votes counted in the capital results.

"During the process of verifying the camera footage by us, for a limited number of which were made available to us by the CEC administration, several irregularities were observed that could significantly affect the change in the result. Under these conditions, I am submitting this complaint to the KAS, based also on the provisions of the Electoral Code,"  his request states.
