The National Food Authority (AKU) has confirmed that eggs used at Kindergarten No. 1 in Gramsh have been contaminated with salmonella.
This resulted in 17 out of 79 people tested, including 16 children and the kindergarten psychologist.
According to the NFA, currently 6 children are being treated at home and are in good condition.
The AKU has suspended the kindergarten's activities until disinfection and tests are completed. The Elbasan Prosecutor's Office has launched investigations to clarify the circumstances of the infection.
