MP and head of the National Council of the Democratic Party, Edi Paloka, spoke about the situation within the DP after the defeat in the May 11 elections.

Asked if there are voices within the DP calling for Sali Berisha's removal after the election defeat, Paloka told News 24 that Berisha is the man who took the party from the abyss and raised it in a few months.  

" I never give up either. Whatever personal decision I make at a certain moment, I will always be in front of Rama, as a simple member or... when they are personal decisions or something beyond that. Any decision that I may make in the future, I will explain, of course I make personal decisions, my life is mine, there are no personal decisions in politics. Tomorrow I may not enter any candidacy, but I will not leave politics. I will be in front of Rama and I will be there when it happens.
If there were no political farce, he would lose the elections, Berisha would leave, it is written in the statute. We are not talking about elections here.


"Berisha is the man who raised the DP, took it to the abyss. A few months before the elections he was under house arrest, we had no finances, for 2 months he took over the campaign, he held the DP in his arms, I got tired of watching Berisha's meetings, an 80-year-old who held 10 meetings each. He took the DP in his arms and you saw the reception they gave him. We all have responsibilities and he doesn't," said Paloka.
