Israeli man prosecuted for attempting to leave Albania with 194,000 undeclared

Police have initiated proceedings to release an Israeli citizen.

The 45-year-old attempted to leave Albania through Rinas Airport, with 194,000 undeclared euros.

"As a result of detailed controls at the entrance/exit of the country, with the objective of preventing and detecting illegalities at the border, the Rinas Border Police services, in cooperation with customs services, have uncovered another case of non-declaration at the border crossing point of considerable amounts of money.

In this case, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where proceedings were initiated against citizen VY, 45 years old, with Israeli citizenship, who during the second-line check was found to have 194,000 euros, which he intended to leave the Republic of Albania without declaring in accordance with the law.

"The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action ," the police announced.
