Drugs flourished in the agricultural complex, Albanian and Italian caught

Italian police have arrested two people, a 43-year-old Albanian and a 34-year-old Italian, who are accused of cultivating and possessing a significant amount of narcotics as well as serious theft of electricity.

The operation took place in a municipality in the province of Turin, where adapted premises were discovered within an agricultural complex used for the cultivation of marijuana.

During the search, police found that the large structure contained five rooms transformed into greenhouses as well as a veranda, where over 700 cannabis plants and about 15 kilograms of dried marijuana were found. Hundreds of halogen bulbs and a complex ventilation system to enable the artificial growth of narcotic plants were also discovered at the scene.

Investigators also noticed an illegal intervention in the electrical network. Through cables that came out of the electrical panel and branched out to the floors of the building, the perpetrators had made an illegal connection to supply numerous devices with power. Preliminary calculations show that the daily consumption reached up to 350–400 euros, causing considerable economic damage.

Those arrested are facing serious charges and the case is under investigation by Italian authorities to uncover other people involved in this criminal activity.
