This is the woman who killed her husband with an axe in Saranda

The identities of the perpetrator and victim of the crime recorded in the early hours of the morning in the village of Metoq, Saranda, have been revealed.

Authorities report that 49-year-old Elvira Tahiraj killed her husband, Llazar Tahiraj, 49. Sources indicate that the woman hit her husband in the head with an axe, leaving him dead at the scene.

According to the Police, the crime was registered during a domestic conflict between the couple. Elvira Tahiraj was escorted to the premises of the Saranda police station for further procedural actions.

It is still unknown what the motive was for the conflict in the couple that escalated to the extreme act by the wife.

The investigative group under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office is working to fully clarify and document this event.
