Greek media: Rama and Mitsotakis met in Brussels, agreed to speed up

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with the Prime Ministers of Albania and the United Kingdom Edi Rama and Boris Johnson before the start of the NATO Summit in Brussels, Greek media report .

With the Prime Minister of Albania, the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis discussed the bilateral relations, as well as the European course of the Western Balkan countries, for which the Greek Prime Minister reiterated the determined support of Greece.

The two Prime Ministers agreed that, after the elections in Albania, the two countries are ready to speed up the negotiations for the conclusion of a joint agreement on the referral of the demarcation of their Maritime Zones to the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

Edi Rama thanked the Prime Minister of Greece for the free distribution of 20,000 vaccines, which were distributed today in Albania.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis reiterated Greece's permanent and sustained interest in the Greek National Minority as well as in Albania's progress in the areas of human rights and rule of law, which are among the preconditions the EU has set for Albania.

The Greek Prime Minister congratulated Edi Rama on the election of Albania as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in the two years 2022-2023.
