Father of SP candidate in Peshkopi arrested, shot after clash with DP

An incident occurred this evening in Peshkopi, where Esat Gjura, father of Socialist Party candidate Daniel Gjura, fired a gun into the air.

The incident occurred after a clash with Democratic Party candidates, Xhelal Mziu and Xhemal Gjunkshi, who were in the area along with their supporters.

According to preliminary information, it is suspected that Mziu and Gjunkshi blocked Esat Gjura's car, due to suspicions of involvement in vote buying, which caused his violent reaction. After this moment, Gjura fired several shots into the air with a firearm.

Immediately after the incident, Esat Gjura and another person were declared wanted by the police. After a few hours, he was put in handcuffs and is now under the escort of the law enforcement forces.
